3Ds Studio Max 9 - Diploma Level II

A comprehensive 3D Studio Max training course for designers and animators new to 3D studio max. This 3D Studio Max training course will enable you to migrate from 2D design to 3D animations, to create photorealistic images, finally rendering sequences for 3D animations, multimedia productions, broadcast and the web.


Familiarity with 3ds Max (3D Studio Max) or delegates should have attended 3ds Max Certificate Level.

The following is a general outline. The range of topics covered during your training is dependent upon student level, time available and preferences of your course booking.


Advanced Polygonal Modeling

  • Modeling Using 2D Shapes to Make 3D Object
  • Creating Lofts / Modifying Lofts
  • Introduction to Mesh and Poly
  • Introduction to Patch and NURBS
    Polygonal Modeling (Advanced)
  • NURBS Modeling (Basic)

Advanced materials

  • This module will teach you how to use maps
  • create uv's, how to add realism to materials and to apply mapped materials to objects and sub-objects.

Cameras and Rendering

  • Application of the principles of computer based cameras including multi-pass rendering effects such as motion blur and depth of field, as well as concepts of rendering for film, broadcast, online and pre-press.

Video Post, Special Effects

  • This module is used to cover other areas such as post effects using video post, special effects.


  • Working with all types of particle and Applying forces such as gravity wind etc…
    Spawning particles upon collision with a deflectors.


  • A detail overview at the new Global Illumination renderers namely Radiosity and Light tracer Which is used for real environment effects.


  • Creating dynamic animations using Reactor.

3D Environments

  • Creating the environment for landscapes or objects (Fog, Volume Light Etc…).
